Kid Friendly Activities In Broward County

Are you looking to get the kids off the couch and do something more active? In this video, I’m going to give you the top four kid-friendly places to check out in Broward County, Florida. We’ll explore everything from pirate adventures to the best beach spots so you can get you and your family outside.

Bluefoot Pirate Adventures

The first place you need to check out is our Bluefoot Pirate Adventures. Come sail away on a pirate ship in the Fort Lauderdale intercoastal waterway, and feel free to dress in your best pirate costume. You’ll board a one-hour adventure-filled boat ride with treasure hunts and more.

Fun fact: the Bluefoot is a US Coast Guard-inspected vessel, and the maximum occupancy is 49. Passengers and our captains are even US Coast Guard-certified license holders.

Sawgrass Recreation Park

The next place you might want to check out is Sawgrass Recreation Park. This is a great place to go on an airboat ride and look for gators. Get a tour of the Florida Everglades and learn the history of Florida's most remarkable treasure.

You can also get up close and personal with Everglades National Wildlife. After your boat ride, you can explore reptile sanctuaries that feature up to 50 reptiles that have been adopted and rescued. This includes tortoises and our not-so-best friend, the iguana.

Florida Flamingo Gardens

Another well-known activity in Davie, Florida is the Flamingo Gardens. This is my favorite place to take the kids to because it's small and packed with activities and surprises. Flamingo Gardens is home to flamingos, a bear, and my kids' favorite: the otters.

You’ll also find a Florida panther, peacocks, and many other types of wildlife there, too. Flamingo Gardens is a wildlife and botanical sanctuary, and it hosts many events throughout the year that kids really like and parents will love.

The Beaches

The last and best place to take the kids is the beach. Check out the great beaches in Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, or Pompano. Our Florida beaches are the best, and the salty water and shining sun will keep you coming back for more.
