In this episode of Hearty Home, I’m going to share the top 3 family-friendly neighborhoods right here in Plantation. We’ll look at each area’s location, amenities, and housing prices so you can choose the one that’s right for you.

Plantation Isles

The first neighborhood you need to check out is Plantation Isles, a community nestled south of Peters, north of 595, and west of the turnpike. One of the reasons why people really like living in this neighborhood is because they can have waterfront without paying oceanfront prices. Many of the homes on Plantation Isles are waterfront with ocean access. So if you want to spend the day out on your boat and then dock in your backyard, this is one area you need to check out.

Plantation Isles is centrally located in Broward County, about five minutes from all the major highways like 595, 95, and the turnpike. It'll take you about 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the day, to get to the beach or downtown Fort Lauderdale. Additionally, the airport is only 10 minutes away.

This neighborhood is known for being owner-occupied, which means there are very few rental opportunities. This makes for a very stable neighborhood. Many of the homes here are four or five bedrooms with bonus rooms. Did somebody say playroom for the kids? The average three-bedroom single-family home in this neighborhood is roughly about $620,000. If you're looking for something a little bit bigger, a four-bedroom single-family home is about $700,000.

If you're looking to rent in this community, it's going to be a little bit difficult because of the higher rate of owner occupancy. However, there are always some great options around Plantation Isles.

Plantation Gardens

The second neighborhood you need to check out is Plantation Gardens. This neighborhood is centrally located off of Northwest 5th Street in between University Drive and Northwest 65th Avenue. Residents are close to all of the major highways, with the 595, 75, and the turnpike all about 5 minutes away. It would take you about 15 to 20 minutes to get to downtown Fort Lauderdale or the beaches and only 10 minutes to get to the airport.

One of the reasons why people love living in this area is because of how close they are to dining, entertainment, and shopping. Plantation Gardens also has its own park with a splash pad, a great place to cool the kids off in the summer. Additionally, the Plantation Library is not that far away.

The average three-bedroom single-family home in Plantation Gardens is about $380,000. If you're looking for a four-bedroom, single-family home, that's going to run you about $560,000. For those looking to rent in the area, you can plan on spending roughly about $1,900 a month on a four-bedroom single-family home. If you're looking to rent a three-bedroom single-family home, that'll cost roughly about $1,700 a month.

Jacaranda Lakes

The third neighborhood you’ll want to check out is Jacaranda Lakes, nestled in between Cleary Boulevard, Sunrise Boulevard, and Nob Hill. One of the reasons why people really love living in Jacaranda Lakes is that some of the houses surround a beautiful lake. It also has its own Park.
